To know if a number if going to be positive or negative is very simple. These are the rules of multiplication and division.

The Same thing applies to division.

Why does this happen

a number that is multiplied by the same operator cancels out the operators so it becomes the default +. If the operator is different it does not cancel each other out so it is - . If you do not understand do not worry. Just remember the rules and you are good. You will understand more later.
